Welcome to your first web activity. Have you written your paragraph about your favorite author? Good. What is the author's best book? Is that book your favorite book? What did you enjoy most about the author's book? When we asked you to tell us why you liked the book, we we really were asking you to write a short "book review." When we suggested posting the review on our message board, we are actually asking you to "publish" your review for others to read! You will now become a published author just like those writers you admire. If your "favorite book" is different from your favorite author's best book, feel free to fill out this form twice. We are actually going to ask you to list your favorite author and book and then write your review twice. The first time, the information goes into our database. This will allow us to collect all these reviews and post them in the library where you can "search" and find all reviews written about a specific book.

The second time that you write the review, you will post it on the message board where you and the other students can the discuss the author or the book. When someone writes and posts a comment about your review, you can write back and comment on the message board. This is how you will begin to meet other readers and writers who like the same books you do.

First, fill out the form below about the book and author. Check your spelling before you "submit" the information. Click submit and your words are in our database. Then click on the "message board" icon at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions for posting your message. When you are finished sending your message, you can return directly to the student home page from the message board.
