Welcome to our online chat tutorial. If you came here from our student book, you already know that this is not your typical chat room because it is a chat room designed for writers. Remember how we said that important words and ideas are highlighted in a different color from the rest of the text because they are "hypertext links?" Did you notice the words "chat" and "white board" below?. Click on the links to learn more about each part of our writing room.

Whether you work in our conference rooms or writing pods, you will always find a "white board" available along with the "chat area" in your writing room. Learn about the chat "navigation bar" so that you can move easily around the room without getting stuck. The words you write in the chat area are stored in a "chat log." You can save the log on diskette and you can also cut and paste from the chat log to your white board.
